Booking terms

Version: 23 October 2026

1. Who you are booking with

Your booking is with Thomas Sidney Jeffery, a sole trader trading as Glitz Happens ("we", "us" and "our").

Address: 59 Leazes Court, Barrack Road, Newcastle Upon Tyne, NE4 5BA

Email: glitz.happens4@gmail.com

These terms apply to places booked on our public workshops for a specific date. Private events require a separate agreed quote and booking terms.

2. Your workshop and payment

Your booking is for the workshop, date, time, venue and number of places shown in your order summary. The workshop description explains what is included and what you need to bring. Please read this information before booking.

Full payment is required when booking. The total price, including any applicable taxes and compulsory charges, is shown before you pay. Payments are processed through Stripe.

Your booking is confirmed, and a contract is formed, when payment is successful and we confirm your places on screen or by email. A temporary reservation during checkout is not a confirmed booking. We will email your booking details and a copy of these terms.

Please check your details before paying and tell us promptly about any errors. If you have paid but cannot find your confirmation, check your spam folder and contact us before paying again. If we have taken payment but cannot provide the places booked, we will refund it in full.

3. Who can attend

Every attendee must have a booked place and be aged 18 or over on the workshop date. This also applies to anyone taking over another person's place.

If you book for other people, please make sure they meet the age requirement and receive the workshop information and these terms.

4. Cancelling your booking

To cancel all or part of your booking, email glitz.happens4@gmail.com with your name, booking reference and the number of places you want to cancel. We calculate notice from when your email reaches us, rather than when we read or acknowledge it.

At least seven days before the start: if we receive your cancellation at least 168 hours before the scheduled workshop start, we will refund the full price of the cancelled places.

Less than seven days before the start: we will refund your payment after deducting only reasonable losses directly caused by your cancellation that we cannot reasonably avoid or recover. We will take reasonable steps to refill your places, account for costs saved and explain any deduction. We will not recover the same loss twice or retain more than the price of the cancelled places.

If we refill a place at the same price and have no remaining loss caused by the cancellation, we will refund that place in full.

The same approach applies if you do not attend. A deduction may be as much as the ticket price if our reasonable, unrecovered loss is that large; there is no automatic forfeiture of your whole payment.

5. Sending someone else or changing dates

You can transfer your place to another person free of charge, provided they meet the age and attendance requirements. Please email us before the workshop starts with the replacement attendee's name so we can update the booking. Please also share the workshop information and these terms with them.

Moving your booking to a different workshop depends on availability and our agreement. If we cannot agree a move, you can keep your original booking or cancel under section 4.

6. Cooling-off rights

Our dated workshops are leisure activities provided on a specific date. The usual 14-day cooling-off right for online purchases therefore does not apply to these bookings. Our cancellation policy in section 4 still applies.

This does not affect your rights if we cancel, do not provide the workshop as agreed or fail to meet our legal obligations.

7. If we cancel or make a significant change

Occasionally illness, venue unavailability or a safety issue may prevent a workshop from going ahead. If we cancel, we will refund the full price of the affected places. You can choose another available date instead, but you do not have to accept a transfer or credit note.

If we make a significant change to the date, time, venue or workshop content, we will contact you and give you the choice of accepting the change or receiving a full refund for the affected places.

These refunds do not limit any other rights or remedies you may have under consumer law.

8. When refunds are made

We will issue full refunds within 14 calendar days of your qualifying cancellation, our cancellation, or your rejection of a significant change. Refunds go to the original payment method, without an administration or payment-processing deduction from a promised full refund.

For a late cancellation or non-attendance, we will assess any refund promptly. Where we need to establish whether a place can be refilled, we will issue any balance due no later than 14 calendar days after the workshop. Any shorter deadline required by law takes priority.

Your bank or payment provider may take additional time to show the refund in your account.

9. Your item and taking part

Foil-leaf decoration permanently changes an item's appearance. The finish depends on the material, condition and work carried out. Please follow the item-suitability guidance on the workshop page and contact us before booking if you are unsure what to bring. We recommend avoiding irreplaceable or particularly valuable items.

Follow the preparation and aftercare guidance provided. These practical precautions do not remove our responsibility to use reasonable care and skill or our responsibility for damage caused by a failure to do so.

Please follow the safety briefing and use materials, tools and protective equipment as instructed. If you need an adjustment or have an access requirement, contact us so we can discuss how to support your attendance.

We may pause or end someone's participation where reasonably necessary to address a serious safety risk or seriously disruptive behaviour. Any refund will be assessed fairly, taking account of the circumstances, the service provided and any justified loss. There is no automatic loss of the full booking payment.

10. If something goes wrong

Please speak to Stacey during the workshop where possible so she can try to put things right, or email glitz.happens4@gmail.com with your booking reference and a description of the problem.

We aim to acknowledge complaints within five working days and give a substantive response within 14 calendar days. If we need longer, we will explain why and give an update. These targets do not limit your legal rights or impose a deadline for making a claim.

11. Our responsibility and your rights

We will provide our workshops with reasonable care and skill and as agreed. We are responsible for foreseeable loss or damage caused by our breach of contract or failure to use reasonable care and skill.

We do not exclude or restrict liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything else the law does not allow us to exclude. Nothing in these terms takes away your statutory consumer rights, including remedies for a service that is not provided as agreed or with reasonable care and skill.

The version of the terms supplied with your booking applies to that booking. Later changes to our website do not automatically change an existing contract.

Our Privacy Notice explains how we use your personal information.
